End of Year Wrap Up!

Wow! What an amazing last couple of months we have had! The holiday season was full of fun events, community outreach, and giving. Our holiday giving started in early November when we handed out gift cards at the commissary to unsuspecting shoppers. There really aren't words to describe the reactions that we received. Mostly surprise, lots of thank you and few tears. Right behind my love for surprising people with free money is our cookies for the troops event. There is so much time and love put in by everyone, it's definitely hard to say thank you enough! This year we received an overwhelming amount of donations, to the tune of over 540 dozen cookies!! It was amazing to see the variety, from chocolate chip to iced sugar cookies to chocolate dipped pretzels. Everyone went above and beyond to make the holidays a little brighter for those working hard to keep us safe. Mixed in with cookie baking and giving we also enjoyed time meeting new members at our monthly lunch bunch, read uplifting Christmas stories at book club, and shared an amazing potluck at our membership dinner. Looking back on the last few months and feeling thankful for the people that have volunteered to help us achieve our mission goals of reaching out to those in need, connecting new friends, and spreading love and happiness far and wide. Looking forward to 2019 and the opportunities it will bring!
